AT&T stated today that it has filed an amicus brief, or "friend of the court" statement, supporting Apple's position in this case, which involves the FBI asking Apple to unlock an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino shooting suspects. Apple has refused, stating that such a move could cause others to gain access to the phone via a "backdoor". AT&T's statement says that the courts are not the place to settle this dispuit, and called on the U.S. Congress to approve new laws on this matter.
