Netflix for iPhone Leads Three Apps Highlighted in WWDC Keynote
At today's WWDC keynote, Steve Jobs introduced three new iPhone apps: Netflix, FarmVille, and Guitar Hero.Netflix for iPhone will be released sometime this Summer. It will include the same Netflix service you get on an iPad, computer, or TV-connected device, letting you pick and stream movies to your phone. You'll be able to resume playback of a movie you began on the iPad or other device. Reed Hastings from Netflix also mentioned that the software will seamlessly switch between networks, implying 3G support.FarmVille will be released at the end of June. The mobile game will sync to your Facebook farms and will support push notifications to alert you of game situations. FarmVille will also include and includes a snow leopard, exclusively available on the iPhone.Guitar Hero for the iPhone is now available in the App Store for $2.99. (The game wasn't yet live in our region when this post was published; check back later if you don't see it.) You play with the tapping mechanic in other iPhone music games, but Guitar Hero adds a strumming motion. The game comes with songs from the Rolling Stones, Queen, and other musicians.
