It's a hard shell case made from tactical plastic lined with a microsuede material inside. It's hard to see from this picture, but the grip is ribbed with raised horizontal ridges for a more sure grip. STM doesn't get particularly imaginative with colors - black, blue and pink are all you have to choose from, and they're all opaque, so your Apple logo will be hidden — but it's a solid case that can take out some serious abuse without flinching.
