Jony Ive receives honorary doctorate from University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge has given Apple design chief Jony Ive an honorary doctorate in science for his work in design at Apple. Ive was one of seven individuals recognized by the university as being at the top of their respective fields.



From the University of Cambridge (via 9to5Mac):


  The man credited with introducing elegance, purity and beauty to the design of personal computers as Apple's chief designer was also honoured. A doctorate in science was conferred on Sir Jonathan Ive, Chief Design Officer at Apple, in recognition of his impact on the world of computing and in making technology approachable through design.


Ive was honored alongside business leaders, doctors, and and athletes. Oxford will also be bestowing an honorary degree on Ive next week.
