Help victims of the Alberta wildfires with Red Cross donations via iTunes

Apple is giving customers a way to help victims of the ongoing wildfires that have torn through Alberta, Canada.  Like it has done for previous disasters around the world, the tech giant has set up a donation page in iTunes through which people can contribute up to $200 directly to the Canadian Red Cross. This follows recent efforts to highlight wildfire assistance apps in the App Store as well.

The page comes in the aftermath of devastating wildfires that have displaced more than 100,000 people in the Fort McMurray, Alberta area. The latest estimates from firefighters note that the fires now cover around 621 square miles.

Unfortunately, it looks as though Apple is only accepting donations for wildfire relief in the Canadian storefront. Those in the U.S., at least, will be redirected to an ongoing campaign to collect contributions for victims of the recent earthquakes in Ecuador and Japan.
