Apple reportedly set to include USB 3.0 ports on iPad Pro, higher-res 12-inch MacBook Air in the works

According to the Wall Street Journal, the tablet will feature USB 3.0 ports to allow faster data transfer with external hard drives. The tablet is also said to feature ports to connect to external keyboards and mice. The publication has also revealed that the hardware giant is working on a 12-inch version of the MacBook Air (http://www.imore.com/macbook-air), which is said to boast a "higher resolution display."</p> <!--break-->
<p>Apple has continued to rework some of the features of the larger iPad. It is now considering the faster technology for data synchronization between the larger iPad and other computing devices.</p> <p>Apple is now considering adding USB ports and adopting so-called USB 3.0 technology, a much faster version that promises to transfer data up to 10 times as rapidly as current USB ports, one of the people said.</p> <p>The company has also been considering adding ports to connect to a keyboard and mouse, the people said.</p>
<p>The larger-sized iPad Pro will reportedly target professional users looking to get work done on the go. Wall Street Journal does state that the final design is not locked down yet, meaning that the aforementioned connectivity features may not make their way onto the retail version of the iPad Pro.</p> <p>Also mentioned in the report was the imminent launch of a 12-inch version of the MacBook Air:</p>
<p>Earlier this year, Apple's suppliers started mass production of a 12-inch MacBook Air, featuring a higher resolution display, they said.</p> <p>While suppliers are gearing up to ship the new 12-inch MacBook Air in large quantities in the second quarter, Apple's launch schedule remains unclear, the people said.</p>
