Apple announces modest changes to its HomeKit platform at WWDC 2015

Apple announced several upcoming enhancements to its HomeKit connected-home platform at its worldwide developer conference today. With the release of iOS 9 this fall, HomeKit will add support for motorized window shades and a raft of new sensor classes, including motion and carbon-monoxide detectors.</p><p>
The software already supports a limited number of thermostats (http://www.techhive.com/article/2929751/the-first-5-homekit-accessories-are-finally-here.html), along with lighting controls from Lutron (http://www.techhive.com/article/2929733/lutrons-caseta-lighting-controls-are-now-mostly-compatible-with-apples-homekit.html) and Insteon (http://www.techhive.com/article/2929797/insteon-ships-its-homekit-enabled-hub-and-app.html).
