Schiller noted in a response that cloud storage is offering a solution to low amounts of storage on hardware:

"The belief is more and more as we use iCloud services for documents and our photos and videos and music. That perhaps the most price-conscious customers are able to live in an environment where they don't need gobs of local storage because these services are lightening the load."

As well as storage limitation concerns, Apple's Phil Schiller went into detail about how the company weighs up battery life with thickness of a product. He believe Apple has the right balance, taking into account the thickness, size and weight to reach a sweet spot. Schiller wants Apple to take risks and be bold.

This is exactly what the company did with the recent MacBook (http://www.imore.com/macbook) update that brought with it a single USB-C port. The laptop is so thin that the combined port is a trade-off for the extra portability, and while it somewhat limits the expansion on the device, there are always options and solutions available to connect a million peripherals.

"If all we do is an incremental, slight change, where's the excitement? We need to take risks. That's the Apple I want — I want an Apple that's bold and taking risks and being aggressive."

It's noted that the full interview will be published on the Daring Fireball website (http://daringfireball.net/live/) soon.
