But you probably haven't heard exactly how it came about. For over a year, Mike Campadore, a systems administrator at George Fox University, collected iMac boxes for this project, stacking them in the back of an engineering classrom.</p> <!--break--> <p>When Campadore finally collected enough boxes, he put his plan into motion, according to George Fox University (http://blogs.georgefox.edu/bruinblog/?p=3170):</p> <p>When more computers arrived in July for a new computer lab, Campadore finally had the boxes he needed to make his "iWheel." He had estimated it would take 38 boxes to create the perfect wheel, but when he taped together the two sides, he discovered the number was 36. On his first attempt, he left the Styrofoam inside the boxes, but it made the wheel too heavy. Even without the extra weight, he estimates the finished product weighs 120 pounds and is nearly nine feet tall.</p><p>Campadore has expressed a desire to go further with the wheel, perhaps by adding plastic pipe rails to fit a revolving chair.</p> <p>Source: George Fox University (http://blogs.georgefox.edu/bruinblog/?p=3170)</p> </div></div></div><br clear='all'/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/> <img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/a2.img" border="0"/> (http://da.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/a2.htm)<img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/234566748152/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/a2t.img" border="0"/><img width='1' height='1' src='(http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/48bc9d8b/sc/28/mf.gif)' border='0'/><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~4/vCj_Mka8Sp4" height="1" width="1" alt=""/> Source: How to build a hamster wheel for humans out of iMac boxes (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~3/vCj_Mka8Sp4/story01.htm) |
