Apple recalling small batch of 3rd-generation Apple TVs due to faulty part

Apple has started recalling a small batch of third-generation Apple TVs due to an unspecified faulty part, according to MacRumors.
It doesn’t seem to be a major recall as Apple hasn’t issued a public advisory about the issue on its website. Apple seems to be proactively contacting customers with the defective Apple TV and offering an exchange for a new unit.
