OWC announces flash storage upgrades for recent MacBook Pro and Air models

Other World Computing (OWC), has launched a new line of flash storage upgrades for newer MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models, specifically those from Mid-2013 or later. The PCIe-based Aura units offer storage expansion in two sizes: 480GB and 1TB. While you can choose to only order a drive, there is an Aura SSD upgrade kit to help you replace your existing laptop's drive. The kits include Torx T5 and Pentalobe P5 screwdrivers, which are used to remove your old drive and install the new one. Also included in the upgrade kit is an Envoy Pro, a disk enclosure in which you can install your MacBook's old SSD, transforming it into an external drive. The Envoy Pro supports transfer speeds of up to 355MB/s. The MacBook Aura upgrades cost $347.99 for 480GB and $597.99 for 1TB for just the drives, while the SSD and kit cost $399 and $649, respectively. Both can be ordered now, with OWC expecting to ship the upgrades later in March. See at OWC ...<br clear='all'/>
