A new report claims that the Federal Bureau of Investigation may have paid more than $1.3 million to unlock the iPhone owned by one of the suspects in the recent San Bernardino, California shootings. Prior reports have suggested that the FBI got help from so-called "professional hackers" to hack into the iPhone 5c. Reuters reports that FBI head James Comey may have indirectly revealed how much money the agency paid to crack the iPhone owned by the shooter, Rizwan Farook: Speaking at the Aspen Security Forum in London, Comey was asked by a moderator how much the FBI paid for the software that eventually broke into the iPhone. "A lot. More than I will make in the remainder of this job, which is seven years and four months for sure," Comey said. "But it was, in my view, worth it." Reuters did the math and found that Comey has an annual salary of $183,300. That means he will earn $1.34 million during his remaining time as the leader of the FBI.
