How to write out a message on your Apple Watch

How to your write out an iMessage or text message on your Apple Watch? Like this!

With watchOS 3 on your Apple Watch, you've got some new options for sending messages from your watch. One of the coolest is the new Scribble feature, which lets you write out text for a message, where previously you would need to dictate it. Follow this guide to learn how to write out your messages.

How to write a message on your Apple Watch

Open Messages from the Home screen of your Apple Watch.
Select the conversation you'd like to reply to.
Alternatively, Force Touch on the display to bring up bring up the New Message option.
In your conversation, hit the Scribble button.


On the pad of dots, write out your message.
As you write, you can also rotate the Digital Crown or tap the arrows in the upper right corner of the screen to access word predictions to help fine-tune your message.
When you're finished, hit Send.
