Apple News hits 70 million users as NBCUniversal inks exclusive deal to sell in-app ads

<p>Apple announced (https://9to5mac.com/2016/01/15/apple-will-discontinue-iad-app-network-for-developers-on-june-30th/) at the start of this year that its iAd network was going away (https://9to5mac.com/2016/01/13/report-apple-says-it-sucks-at-selling-ads-will-soon-let-publishers-do-the-hard-work-but-keep-all-the-revenue/) over the summer, which affected advertising in its story aggregating News app (https://9to5mac.com/guides/apple-news/) in iOS 9 and later. Today Recode is <a href="http://www.recode.net/2016/11/7/13547014/apple-news-nbcuniversal-sales" target="_blank">reporting[/url] that Apple has inked an exclusive deal with NBCUniversal that lets them run ad sales for Apple News.</p>
