Apple Patent Envisions Future AirPods with Selective Audio Passthrough Feature and Noise Cancellation

A new patent application from Apple describes how in the future AirPods might feature selective audio pass through feature. Titled “in-ear speaker hybrid audio transparency system,” the patent describes Apple’s take on modern noise cancellation where selective external sounds can be drowned out or allowed to pass through.
