Upgrading to macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Will Remove the Root Security Fix

Earlier this week, Apple released an emergency security update for macOS High Sierra to fix a major root vulnerability. As it turns out though, the security update will not survive an upgrade if you were running macOS 10.13 and upgrade to 10.13.1 after that.
