Philips Hue Go vs. Philips Hue Bloom: Which should you buy?

I've been a Hue user for years and I have Hue lights in almost every room in my home, so I've got things covered when it comes to setting the mood.

Philips Hue Go

Shines Bright

$80 at Amazon

Pros

Portable
On-device controls
Works with Homekit & Alexa
Cons

Relatively short battery life
Requires Hue bridge
The Hue Go is a solid accessory that does double duty. You can use it to add ambience to any setting, and also take it with you for on-the-go lighting.

Philips Hue Bloom

Sets the Mood

$60 at Amazon

Pros

Great for ambience
Casing doesn't get hot with use
Cons

Can only be used indoors
Not the brightest
The Hue Bloom is a favorite for adding effects in almost any room, but it isn't portable and could stand to be brighter.

I See the Light

The Hue Go is brighter and more portable than the older Hue Bloom, and even though it costs a bit more, is still a solid choice when adding ambience to almost any room in your connected home.
