Developer demos what will be possible with HomeKit-connected AirPlay 2 Smart TVs

<p>Apple surprised announced its new (https://9to5mac.com/2019/01/06/apple-says-leading-tv-manufacturers-will-integrate-airplay-2-send-video-to-tv-with-siri-voice-commands/) HomeKit and AirPlay Smart TV initiative at CES earlier this month, with the first official compatible TVs launching in the spring. As we reported last night (https://9to5mac.com/2019/01/24/ios-12-2-beta-1/), iOS 12.2 includes the necessary foundations to support these new features.</p>
<p>Developer Khaos Tian (http://twitter.com/KhaosT) hacked the HomeKit protocol to simulate adding a smart TV accessory to the Home app. He shared some screenshots and videos of these features ‘in action’ …</p>
