Instagram dropping support for its standalone Snapchat-style ‘Direct’ app

<p>Back in December of 2017, Instagram launched a standalone app called Direct (https://9to5mac.com/2017/12/07/instagram-direct-messaging-app/), focused on its messaging and story features. Just over a year later, however, the Facebook-owned service has announced that it is shuttering the application.</p>
