Facebook officially changes its name to ‘Meta’ as it strives to be a ‘metaverse company’

<p>During its Connect 2021 conference (https://www.facebookconnect.com/en-us/session/70f2a060-08ef-4aba-a500-3c0495e5519a/) keynote today, Facebook spent a lot of time diving into the “metaverse” – its in the works mixed-reality platform. And along with that, as expected, it announced a major rebrand (https://9to5mac.com/2021/10/19/facebook-reportedly-renaming-the-company-because-that-will-definitely-fix-its-problems/) to “Meta” with the goal of the new name to “encompass everything” it does.</p>
