Epic sues Google and Samsung, again under the guise of fighting for ‘all developers’

Epic today filed a new lawsuit (https://www.epicgames.com/site/en-US/news/filing-suit-against-google-and-samsung-for-illegally-colluding-to-block-competition-in-app-distribution-and-undermining-the-epic-v-google-jury-verdict) against Google and Samsung, four years after first suing Google over its app store monopoly. This time around, as reported by our friends at 9to5Google (https://9to5google.com/2024/09/30/epic-games-samsung-google-sideloading-lawsuit/), Epic is focused on Samsung’s “Auto Blocker” feature that limits users to installing apps from “authorized sources.”

Sweeney, however, continues to falsely claim that Epic is fighting on behalf of “all developers,” not just Epic itself.
