Early benchmarks reveal new cheaper dual-core iMac 40% slower than the quad-core iMac

A new entry-level iMac was officially announced today, bringing the starting price of getting a computer from Apple’s main desktop line down to $1,099. But as many publications have noted, the computer is oddly underpowered compared to its siblings, and new benchmarks show that the lower-voltage processors in these new models are definitely as weak as they would be presumed to be.
