FTC reportedly wants privacy guarantee for collected Health app data

According to reports, the FTC wants assurances that Apple won't share health data without the consent of owners.</p> <!--break--> <p>News agency Reuters is reporting that both Apple and the FTC have met in the past few months to discuss health, with Apple emphasizing that it will not sell any collected health data:</p>
<p>The two people, both familiar with the FTC's thinking, said Apple representatives have met on multiple occasions with agency officials in recent months, to stress that it will not sell its users' health data to third-party entities such as marketers or allow third-party developers to do so.</p>
<p>An Apple spokeswoman said of the HealthKit platform and the Health app:</p>
<p>We designed HealthKit with privacy in mind.</p>
