Apple brings in new contractors to finish Campus 2 project

Apple has indeed replaced the lead contractors on its Campus 2 project, bringing two new companies to fill their roles.

As was reported last week (http://www.imore.com/apple-reportedly-booting-two-contractors-campus-2-project) Skanska, one of the lead contractors for Apple's Campus 2 (http://www.imore.com/tag/campus-2) construction, has had their contract with Apple cancelled following a failure in negotiations to continue on the project. Their partner in the joint venture, DPR Construction, is also said to be off the job. But Apple has apparently already filled their shoes with two new companies, according to Re/code (http://recode.net/2015/06/16/apple-replaces-lead-contractor-on-new-spaceship-campus/):

New contractors — Rudolph & Sletten and Holder Construction — have taken over construction of the main spaceship-shaped building, the source said.

It's unknown at this time whether this change will cause any delays in the project. Apple had originally intended to begin using the campus at some point in 2016.

Source: Re/code (http://recode.net/2015/06/16/apple-replaces-lead-contractor-on-new-spaceship-campus/)
