Apple Files Patent For iPhone As A Ticketing System
 


A new patent reveals that Apple may be trying to make a connection in iTunes between artists, and the capability to buy tickets to their respective concerts.According to 9to5 Mac, Patently Apple revealed today a patent by Apple that shows details on an "iTunes based web service for tickets that will naturally enhance the iTunes music empire."  The iPhone and Mac application "Concert Ticket" would bring together all aspects of the ticketing process to happen immediately.Apple's app would include the use of electronic maps to whatever event the ticket purchaser is going to, an electronic distribution of tickets either through email or other ways, song lyrics, refreshments, the ability to purchase a live recording of the concert, as well as other content, and even parking and how to find people at the venue.But it's not just for music lovers.  Apple also reveals details for sport events, weddings and conventions, such as the WWDC (not officially scheduled yet as of the patent notice).Patent image courtesy of Patently Apple
