Why Apple is monitoring the AT&T and Time Warner deal

After Apple reportedly looked into acquiring Time Warner, it may be AT&amp;T walking away with the media property. But Cupertino still has its eye on the price.</p><p>
AT&amp;T is in “advanced talks (http://www.reuters.com/article/us-time-warner-m-a-at-t-idUSKCN12L1Y0)” to acquire Time Warner with a deal reportedly being finalized as early as this weekend. According to The Wall Street Journal (http://www.wsj.com/articles/at-t-time-warner-talks-could-set-off-deal-frenzy-1477081862?tesla=y&amp;mod=e2tw), however, Apple is now closely monitoring the merger to see if any other bids surface or if other media properties suddenly become highly desirable.
