Following the launch of Apple News+ (https://9to5mac.com/2019/03/25/apple-announces-apple-news-for-9-99-mo-adds-300-magazines-and-select-newspapers-to-the-news-app/), Apple confirmed last month that it would shut down (https://9to5mac.com/2019/03/29/apple-news-texture-shut-down/) Texture at the end of May. Apple originally acquired Texture in March of 2018 (https://9to5mac.com/2018/03/12/apple-buying-digital-magazine-service-texture-likely-boosting-news-app-revenue/), using it as the basis for what would become Apple News+.

Now, a new report from the New York Post (https://nypost.com/2019/04/09/apple-to-shutter-texture-and-replace-it-with-news-app/) offers more information on the details of Apple’s Texture acquisition.
