Magazines Self-Censoring iPad Editions

Fancy yourself a Fashion Plate? Do you own an iPad?Prepare to be underwhelmed.According to Anna Leach over at ShinyShiny, fashion magazines hoping to sell their wares through the App Store will have to self-censor if they want their goods to make it out to the consuming public. Leach says that insiders working for the edgy fashion publication Dazed & Confused have gone so far as to nickname their App Store friend edition the "Iran Edition," drawing parallels between Apple's strict censorship policies and the repression seen in the Middle Eastern theocracy.Ouch.Given the amount of attention paid to Apple's removal of some of the App Store's adult-themed content of late, you can be sure that this is not the last time we'll be hearing about this one.
