MLB to use iOS 7′s iBeacons in stadiums to create interactive experience for fans
      


         
         
      Apple highlighted a lot of features when it introduced iOS 7 in June, but a feature that it didn’t talk about much was iBeacons, a special Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) profile that lets apps accurately detect location information indoors, something GPS fails at terribly due to low signals.
Major League Baseball (MLB) has been working with Apple to use iBeacons indoor mapping technology in its stadiums to customise its At the Ballpark app for fans who visit any MLB stadium.
