Apple adds support for Animated PNG images in Safari in iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite

Apple seems to have added support for Animated PNGs (APNGs) in Safari in iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, according to MacRumors.
As MacRumors points out, Animated PNGs was proposed in 2004 as a replacement for animated GIF images.
