Apple sends out invites to special event on October 16

This is widely expected to be the reveal of new iPads (http://www.imore.com/ipad) and Macs. A launch date for OS X Yosemite (http://www.imore.com/os-x-yosemite) is also expected. The invitation has a partial colorful Apple logo, along with the phrase "It's been way too long".</p> <!--break--> <p>The event will be held at Apple's campus in Cupertino. Recent reporting suggests that a Retina iMac (http://www.imore.com/new-rumor-claims-retina-display-imacs-are-late-testing-stages-apple) may make an appearance, though if it will launch soon after is unknown.
