Title: Installing MAC OS X Yosemite on PC (without ANY Access to a MAC) inc format USB
Post by: robertcohen on December 09, 2014, 03:14:25 pm
Hi

I have read that I need to format my USB pen in a MAC first before I can begin the progress of installing Yosemite on my PC.
Sadly I do not have access to an MAC.  Is there anyway that I can do everything on my PC including using special format tools for a USB or even burning and reading the image of a DVD.

I have downloaded a copy of Yosemite which is a DMG file and also a MAC ISO file but I am lost on how to get the ball rolling.

I have a Asus Sabertooth P67 motherboard so I understand it should work.
I have a spare SSD to install the OS on.
Can I also install Linux on the SSD also after I install the MAC OS X ?

any help would be much appreciated, as the help on the net always refers to a MAC first then sticking a USB pen in a PC, but in mycase I do not have access to one so I wonder what the step by step guide would be it everything inc downloading the OS X (which I have done) on a PC.

If you comp running Windows 7 or 8 just download Transmac or win32diskimager to make a boot loader, use Hackintosh Distro DMG file not ISO file.
