Verizon cut prices on most data plans, but raises costs for heavy data users

Verizon doesn't want to get fancy with offers like rollover data. Instead, the mobile carrier is going for a good old-fashioned price cut and some new data plans. Starting Thursday, the company's More Everything plans in the 1GB to 3GB range will get an extra gigabyte of data at the same price.</p><p>
By offering more data with each of the lower-tier plans Verizon is essentially building in a $10 discount from its previous rates. The company is also adding a new 6GB plan for $70 a month and an 8GB plan for $85.
