Mountain Lion: Messages replaces iChat, gets public beta
      
         

 Apple is replacing its iChat instant messaging application with Messages on the Mac. While the final version of Messages will ship with Mountain Lion this summer, you can try the beta out now. Here's what to expect when you do.
