Pegatron, in addition to Foxconn, to produce additional units of both the
iPhone 6 and
iPhone 6 Plus as the company heads into the holiday shopping season.</p> <!--break--> <p>A report on Nikkei suggests that Pegatron is expanding production capacity for the iPhone 6 and the assembler is also rumored to have been tapped to assist Foxconn with iPhone 6 Plus production:</p>
<p>Apple assembler Pegatron is expanding production capacity to handle strong global demand for the iPhone 6.... Local press reports suggest Apple may also tap Pegatron to produce the iPhone 6 Plus since Foxconn has been struggling to cope with demand. Pegatron officials did not comment directly on the media speculation.</p>
<p>Pegatron head Jason Cheng told investors that his company will complete its $200 million capital expenditure this year and that figure will increase to $300 million next year.</p> <p>Source:
