'iPad Pro' once again shown in testing by new app analytics

An app analytic firm has seen new data that indicates that Apple may indeed be testing its rumored
iPad Pro. The company, Appsee, says that its testing logs show a new device, known as "iPad6,8" in testing, with a screen resolution of 2732 x 2048. This matches previous reports regarding the resolution of the rumored larger iPad.

From
Appsee:

The long-rumored iPad Pro's existence and size get another proof. As Appsee generates heatmaps and session recordings, we collect data on screen sizes.

Our logs show a new device, named "iPad6,8" with the size of… 2,048×2,732 pixels (1024×1366 points). This evidence is aligned with previous findings and based on several live apps – making it very concrete.

As a note, if we for a moment that that iPad Pro would have a 12.9-inch display, a resolution of 2732 x 2048 puts its pixel density at about 265 ppi. For reference, Apple's 9.7-inch iPads with Retina displays all have a resolution of 2048 x 1536, with a pixel density of about 264 ppi.

A
recent report indicated that Apple would indeed produce the iPad Pro, along with a Force Touch-friendly stylus, and would aim to start production by October. It should be noted that if production were to start that late, it's unlikely that we would see the device before the beginning of 2016.

Source:
