Visual Studio, Microsoft's integrated development environment (IDE), will soon be available for the Mac. The company will roll out a preview version of Visual Studio for Mac at its Connect(); conference later this week. This version of the IDE focuses on developing Mac, iOS, and Android apps using the C# language, and puts an emphasis on building for multiple platforms.

The primary workloads supported by Visual Studio for Mac are native iOS, Android and Mac development via Xamarin, and server development via .NET Core with Azure integration. It gives you all the tools you need to develop the rich, native mobile app experiences that users expect today, and the cloud-based server back ends to power them.
