American Foundation for the Blind honoring Apple for their VoiceOver accessibility tool

<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p class="intro">Apple has been chosen by the American Foundation for the Blind as one of the recipients of the 2015 Helen Keller Achievement Award.</p> <p>Apple is being honored with the Helen Keller Achievement Award for their work in making technology more accessible. Specifically, the American Foundation for the Blind is singling-out Apple's work on VoiceOver, which can let users hear descriptions of what happens on their display.<!--break--></p>
<p>AFB is recognizing Apple for VoiceOver, a gesture-based screen reader that allows users to hear a description of everything happening on the display, and other features that make iPhone, iPad and other iOS devices accessible to people with vision loss. Apple received an AFB Access Award in 2009 for its trailblazing engineering of accessible products and continues its extraordinary efforts to make their products accessible for everyone.</p>
<p>Apple will receive this honor alongside Daredevil actor Charlie Cox, musician Ward Marston, and Vanda Pharmaceuticals.
