Foxconn may build up to 70% of iPhone 6s orders, 100% of iPad Pros

It appears that Foxconn may remain Apple's primary manufacturing partner this year, and will reportedly produce the vast majority of iPhone units, along with other upcoming products.

Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai, will reportedly remain as Apple's primary manufacturing partner in China, and will apparently receive up to 70% of the orders for this year's new iPhone models, according to KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo. Foxconn is also said to be the sole manufacturer for the rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which is due out this fall, again according to Kuo.

From The China Post:

In addition to assembling the new iPhones, Kuo said that Hon Hai is expected to serve as the sole assembler of the next generation of the iPad, which will be equipped with a 12.9-inch panel. Apple is likely to launch the new iPad in the fourth quarter of this year.

Kuo also stated that he expects Apple to unveil the next iPhones in August of this year, with a release in September, though this seems unlikely. Apple has, for the past few years, revealed the new iPhone early in September, with a launch the following week. While Apple can always break with the pattern, and indeed they have broken such patterns a number of times in the past, there seems to be little benefit to revealing the new devices in August instead of September.

As to what we'll see when the new iPhones are revealed? Kuo's recent report suggests that the new phones will again feature 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays, an upgraded 12-megapixel camera, and an Apple A9 system-on-a-chip with 2GB of RAM. The new phones are also said to feature Force Touch capabilities, like those currently found on the Apple Watch.

Source: The China Post, via: MacRumors
