Kenwood debuts two new receivers with CarPlay on board

[/url]

Kenwood has taken the wraps off of two new aftermarket receivers with Apple's CarPlay on board. The two receivers fall under Kenwood's Excelon series with the model numbers of DDX6902S and DDX6702S, and clock in at $850 and $800, respectively.

According to Kenwood, both receivers feature an ample 6.2-inch screen flanked by a physical knob and menu buttons on the left side. In addition, users can hook the receivers up to a back-up camera if they happen to have one on board. Of course, the highlight of these receivers is their CarPlay support, which allows iPhone owners to control everything from music and phone calls to texts and apps with voice controls routed through Siri.

At $800 and $850, the units may be a bit pricey, but its good to see that more and more options are becoming available for those who may not be in the market for a new car, but would still like to take advantage of CarPlay. Although no exact date was given, Kenwood says it is set to ship these two new units this month. With only 2 weeks left in September, that means you should be able to get your hands on one soon.

Check out Kenwood's Excelon receivers

Source: Kenwood
