Sprint will be giving the millions of daily New York City subway system commuters a better way to keep in touch with their smartphone. The carrier plans to deploy 4G LTE service in 279 underground New York City subway stations. The project is expected to be completed by 2017.</p> <!--break--> <p>In a statement, Sprint's Scott Santi, its Regional Vice President, Network, said:</p>
<p>Our deployment includes the use of 1.9GHz and 800MHz spectrum in each station. And we're deploying 2.5GHz in select high-traffic stations in Midtown and Queens for even faster data speeds at those stations.</p>
<p>He added that at the moment, Sprint has 4G service in 83 NYC subway stations, which he claims "significantly" surpasses the rollout from rivals Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile</p> <p>Source:
