US carriers offer free calls to Mexico in wake of Hurricane Patricia

The wireless networks will enable customers to send texts and place calls from the US to Mexico without charge until specified dates.</p> <!--break--> <h3><a href="http://about.att.com/story/att_networks_prepared_for_hurricane_patricia.html" title="" rel="nofollow">AT&amp;T[/url]</h3> <p>AT&amp;T will not charge customers extra for calling and sending texts to those who reside in Mexico. This charge waiver will cease on November 5.</p> <h3>Bright House Networks</h3> <p>For Bright House Network customers, free SMS and calls to Mexico can be enjoyed until November 5. It's noted in the company's announcement that those who place calls during the program will be issued with a credit on their account.</p> <h3>Cricket Wireless</h3> <p>Cricket Wireless customers will be able to send SMS and make calls from the US to Mexico for free through November 8. This is available to all rate plans.</p> <h3>Sprint</h3> <p>Sprint will provide free calls and SMS to Mexico until November 4. The company also reminds customers of Sprint Open World, which would provide those who need to travel south with unlimied calls, texts and 1GB of data.</p> <h3>T-Mobile</h3> <p>Until November 7, T-Mobile will allow its subscribers to send free SMS and place calls with friends and loved ones.
