Apple pays tribute to Prince on Twitter and Beats 1

Apple is paying its respects to Prince, who passed away earlier today at the age of 57. CEO Tim Cook took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on Prince's influence throughout his career:

Prince was a true innovator and a singular artist. His music and influence will live on for generations. Rest in peace.— Tim Cook (@tim_cook) April 21, 2016

Though the company doesn't have the rights to offer Prince's music Apple Music, it can broadcast tracks through its Beats 1 radio station, which it did for a bit this afternoon. Like Tim Cook, Beats 1 anchors Zane Lowe and Julie Adenuga shared their thoughts on Twitter:

I can't believe he has gone. Thank you for everything Prince. You will always be The Greatest #RIPPrince— Zane Lowe (@zanelowe) April 21, 2016

Nowhere near finished celebrating the life & music of one of the world's greatest performers.Thank you Prince.— Julie Adenuga (@JulieAdenuga) April 21, 2016
