Apple Online crediting USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 price cuts on accessory orders

Apple Online is emailing customers who ordered Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C dongles and peripherals to inform them about the recent price drop and to credit them the difference.

Thank you for your recent Apple Online Store purchase.

Apple recently lowered the price of the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter you ordered. We are pleased to inform you that we will provide you with a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the new, lower price.

If you recently bought online but didn't get the email, check your junk folder, or call 800–692–7753 any day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Central Time.

Anyone who bought in-store should go back to the Apple Store within the usual purchase window and ask for a refund/exchange to match the new price.

The price drop on Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C followed the announcement of the MacBook Pro 2016 which comes with two or four Thunderbolt 3/ USB-C connectors but no USB-A, HDMI, or SD ports like the previous generation.
