Apple said to be investigating augmented reality glasses

Apple may be investigating augmented reality glasses that connect to your iPhone

Apple is said to be exploring its next foray into wearable computing in the form of so-called "digital glasses." These glasses would reportedly connect to your iPhone and offer some degree of augmented reality (AR) experience, showing information and images in the wearer's field of vision. The product is still apparently in the testing phase.

According to Bloomberg:


  Apple has talked about its glasses project with potential suppliers, according to people familiar with those discussions. The company has ordered small quantities of near-eye displays from one supplier for testing, the people said. Apple hasn't ordered enough components so far to indicate imminent mass-production, one of the people added.


Even if this product never comes to market, Apple seems very interested in AR as a potential platform. CEO Tim Cook has previously noted that the company has already invested quite a bit in the tech...
