Apple's iPad Production Bottlenecked Due to Screen Supply

With Apple having already delayed the international launch of the iPad 3G, more delays could soon be imminent. 9to5 Mac reports that Apple is faced with a bottleneck in their production process due to lack of availability of iPad displays. The iPad displays are reportedly being manufactured by LG, Samsung and Seiko Epson, but due to an oversight in demand for the product, these companies simply cannot produce enough displays. “We understand that the yields on the display have been low and that
they’re creating a production bottleneck,” said iSuppli analyst Andrew Rassweiler.Currently US shipping times on the iPad Wi-Fi is 5-7 days, but the iPad 3G shipping time is a much longer wait, with the next batch of 3G models set to be shipped on May 7.  9to5 believes that iPad supplies could remain low until later this year.
