How to get started using Raspberry Pi

Get the basics for setting up Raspberry Pi.

Updated March 2017 to reflect information about Raspberry Pi 3, Raspberry Pi Zero, and NOOBS 2.3.

It's Pi Day! March 14 celebrates the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, which is 3.14159 (actually, it goes on infinitely, which is what makes the number so famous). Because we love nerdy things like mathematical constants, irrational numbers, and computers, we're also celebrating Pi Day with a beginner's guide to getting started with Raspberry Pi.

The Raspberry Pi is a mini computer that was specifically created to make tech learning easier. It has a lot of components for computer-based projects, like USB ports, an ethernet port, an SD card slot, Wi-Fi antenna ports, and more.
