So what's the difference between the Google Home Max and Apple's HomePod? Let's find out!

With pre-orders for the Apple HomePod about to go live, you may be thinking it's time to enter the world of smart speakers, but which one is right for you?

Let's take a look at one of the big competitors to the Apple HomePod — Google Home Max — and see how they compare.

As far as looks go, both speakers are relatively small — they don't need to be wall mounted and they will easily fit on a desk, shelf, or other similar space.

Apple's HomePod is cylindrical in shape, while the Google Home Max is more like a round-edge rectangle that can be positioned as either wide or tall.
