You can now use Apple's Pages app to create digital booksAt its March education event, Apple announced an update to Pages that brings a new book-creation feature called Digital Books.
Along with a brand new iPad with Apple Pencil support, Apple announced a series of updates to its iWork suite — most importantly Pages for iOS and macOS will now support book creation. Students can create books filled with photos, videos, graphs, and illustrations.

Apple is calling the new feature Digital Books. You can use Pages for iOS to export ePub 3 files from your iPad and make use of Apple's new templates designed specifically for Digital Books.
Those of you using iBooks Author on the Mac can continue to do so — it appears iBooks Author documents cannot be opened by Pages.
