Before the iPhone X launched last year, there were rumors of Apple working on getting the in-display fingerprint technology ready in time for use on the handset. However, as we all now know, that did not happen and Apple instead went with Face ID on the iPhone X. Android OEMs, however, have been in a race to launch phones with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
